Introducing new interactive courses

//Introducing new interactive courses

Packt subscribers now have access to hands-on labs with coding exercises

Learning technology skills have always required you to engage with a combination of theory and practice. Without theory, practice is inflexible, just a machine-like process that follows a prescribed set of rules. Without practice, meanwhile, theory is just pointless.

While traditional forms of learning materials and resources are useful if you want to learn theory and concepts, they’re often weaker when it comes to putting those principles into practice. That’s annoying on two counts – it makes the step from theory to practice that little bit harder and it makes understanding theory difficult too. Ultimately this is because there’s a symbiotic relationship between understanding why and how things work and actually putting them into practice effectively.

That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of Interactive Courses on Packt. Although we’ve always believed that content – books, videos, whatever – should be practical first and foremost, with Interactive Courses, you can get your hands on code while reading tutorial content.

That means you won’t just be reading, passively – you’ll also be able put new concepts and techniques to work in a simple code environment.

Put another way, Interactive Courses offer a great learning experience because:

  • You can get to grips with code immediately.
  • You can learn new skills and understand complex concepts fast.

We’ve launched with 65 Interactive Courses. These are based on existing Packt eBooks, which we’ve extended with code exercises. This gives the content a whole new dimension.

Our featured Interactive Courses cover a wide range of technologies. These include:

  • Python
  • R
  • Go
  • Swift
  • Java
  • Kotlin
  • JavaScript
  • Node.js

All 65 Interactive Courses are now accessible to Packt subscribers. So, log in now to start using them, or, if you’re new to Packt, start a Free Trial.
