A credit allows you to claim any eBook or Video of your choice for free. To do this, sign in to your subscription and browse for the eBook or video you want. From the front page or within content, click on the ‘Use Credit’ button. This download is DRM-free.

Please note: if you have no credits, you will not see this option.

On the website, you can download eBooks and videos you own from My Purchases  as DRM-free files. Click on view details and click on the download link at the top of the page. From the app, you can download eBooks or videos even if you don’t own them – offline access to these downloads is only possible inside the app and on the device you downloaded them on.

If you cancel your subscription, you lose your unlimited access to Packt’s library. You will still be able to access your account, keep and use any credits you have already earned, and read or download any books you have previously purchased.

You have access to 7000+ eBooks and videos that have been published by Packt, along with Learning Paths and Projects.

Learning Paths are collections of titles selected to help you develop a particular skill. The titles are presented in a recommended learning order along with a minimum recommended learning time – this is based on how long we estimate users need to gain practical value out of a path. Paths are divided into three levels, Getting started, Improving, and Mastering, based on the knowledge levels of the learner.

Sign in to your subscription, click on Learning Paths in the top navigation. Choose a Learning path relevant to you. Click ‘Get Started’.  Start a title listed within the Learning Path, and you’ve begun that Learning Path. It will then be added to your content in the My Library tab.

Where can I see a list of my Learning Paths? 2018-12-20T11:32:48+00:00

At the moment, you can only start four Learning Paths. You can see a list of them via the My Library tab within your subscription.

What are Projects? 2018-12-20T11:32:48+00:00

These are concise learning sessions taken from existing content that are focussed on helping you produce practical apps and software solutions. Note that these are standalone chapters that may require some previous knowledge of the technologies involved.

What rewards do I get for learning? 2018-12-20T11:32:48+00:00

Annual subscriptions can earn a new credit when they complete 50 sections of learning. Time is only logged when you click ‘Next Section’ while reading or watching a title, and these titles are in addition to the monthly credits Annual subscribers receive. You can access the details in the Rewards page.

What is the difference between Saved for Later and Bookmarks? 2018-12-20T11:32:48+00:00

Bookmarks allow you to return to specific sections of eBooks or videos: code samples, great explanations of a topic, a tricky section that you want to read again.
Saved for Later let you tag the whole eBook or video, so you create your own personal reading list and return to these titles when you have, for example, more time.

Where can I get the code that goes along with my eBook or video (e.g., Code files)? 2018-12-20T11:32:48+00:00

Log into your subscription and find the relevant title and go into content. You will be able to download the code by clicking on the ‘Code files’ icon at the top of any content page.

How do I report errors in an eBook or video (errata)? 2018-12-20T11:32:48+00:00

If you want to report errata, you click on the Help page, click on ‘Submit errata’ and follow the instructions there.

Click on the ‘My Library’ tab in the top nav of your subscription. These titles will be under ‘My Purchases’.

The app is available for iPhone and iPad, as well as Android phones and tablets.

Unfortunately, you cannot download eBooks and videos from within the app. You can, however, download them to access them offline, whether or not you have bought them.

The app is exclusively available to all subscribers, regardless of whether you are on the Monthly or Annual plans. If you have purchased a book from Packt, you can also access it through the app. You can use the app during your 10 day free trial. To start a free trial, click here.
